New Jersey Man Indicted on 1st Degree Murder Charges for Brutal Slayings In Rockland County

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh, II. announced today that Alan Abad, a/k/a “Alina Abad” (6/7/05), of Westwood, NJ was indicted and arraigned on:
· One count of Murder in the First Degree, a class “A” Felony,
· Two counts of Murder in the Second Degree, class “A” Felonies,
in connection with the killings of Evelyn Augilar-Agustin and Anabelly Aguilar.
On February 15, 2025, at approximately 6:30 pm, while at 4 Gesner Drive, Spring Valley, Rockland County, New York, the defendant caused the deaths of his two aunts, Evelyn Augilar-Agustin and Anabelly Aguilar. The defendant caused blunt force trauma to Evelyn Aguilar-Agustin’s head, face and abdomen, which caused her death. The defendant also caused blunt force trauma to Anabelly Aguilar’s head and upper neck, causing cervical spine fractures, brain injuries and hemorrhages, which caused her death.
“The defendant has been indicted by a Rockland County Grand Jury on murder in the first degree and two counts of murder in the second degree. The victims, who were aunts of the defendant, were brutally and senselessly murdered. We will seek justice for the victims’ and their families, and I offer my sincere condolences to the surviving family members.” said District Attorney Tom Walsh.
On February 25, 2025, the arraignment on the indictment took place at the Rockland County Court in front of Hon. Kevin F. Russo. The defendant was remanded without bail to the Rockland County Jail.
The Defendant faces a maximum of life in state prison without parole, if convicted of Murder in the First Degree.
Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Dominic A. Crispino, Executive Assistant District Attorney Matthew Martinez, and Supervising Assistant District Attorney Meghan Garvey are prosecuting the case.
It should be noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Haverstraw Police Department Arrest Haverstraw Man For Menacing and Weapon Possession

Michael Green, 57, has been arrested by the Haverstraw Police Department in connection with a menacing incident involving a firearm. The arrest follows an investigation that began on March 19, 2025, when police responded to a report of an altercation in the Village of Haverstraw. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the victim and began their investigation. Additional police units canvassed the area and were able to locate and identify the suspect, Michael Green.

The investigation continued with the search for video evidence, which led to the execution of a search warrant at Green’s home. During the search, police found a loaded firearm.

As a result of the investigation, Green faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree (Class C Felony), Menacing in the 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), and Harassment (Violation). Green was arraigned in the Village of Haverstraw Justice Court and was then remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility.

It is important to note that a criminal complaint is an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Haverstraw Police Department Arrested and Charged Nyack Man With Petit Larceny

On January 27, 2025, the Haverstraw Police Department shared an image of a person involved in a larceny investigation at a local business. On March 19, 2025, Sandy MartinezRodriguez, 33, from Nyack, NY, was identified as the suspect, located, and charged with petit larceny. After being processed, he was released with an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Haverstraw Justice Court.

Chief John J. Gould Jr. stated, “This demonstrates the unwavering commitment of our department to pursue suspects until they are caught.”

It is important to remember that a criminal complaint is only an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
