Rockland County District Attorney Execute Search Warrant At Village Of Haverstraw Smoke Shop

The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office; the New York Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations; Town of Haverstraw Police Department, and New York State agencies executed a search warrant at a smoke shop at 48 Broadway in the Village of Haverstraw following a multi-agency investigation after receiving complaints from the public.
District Attorney Tom Walsh said, “Working with our partners on the federal, state, and local level we executed a search warrant at a smoke shop in the Village of Haverstraw. Today’s action sends a clear message that all business in Rockland must be conducted lawfully.”
The following agencies were involved with the investigation: Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, New York State Tax and Finance, New York State Office of Cannabis Management, and the Town of Haverstraw Police Department.
This is an ongoing investigation, and more information will be released at a future time.
It should be noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Traffic Stop Turns Violent; Two Ramapo Officers Hurt

Two Ramapo Police Officers Injured During Violent Arrest

Ramapo, NY — Two Town of Ramapo Police Officers were injured Thursday evening during a traffic stop that escalated into a violent arrest. The incident occurred after officers pulled over a 27-year-old man from Nanuet, NY, for a traffic violation.

Police say the suspect had a suspended license, a bench warrant from New Hempstead, and an arrest warrant from the Town of Clarkstown. When officers attempted to arrest him, he allegedly resisted violently, injuring both officers.

The suspect was ultimately subdued and taken into custody. He is now facing multiple charges, including felony assault in the second degree, and is being processed at Ramapo Police Headquarters.

The officers are being treated at a local hospital for their injuries.

Firearm and Narcotics Seized During Hillcrest Traffic Stop; Spring Valley Woman Arrested

During a midnight patrol on July 4, 2025, officers in the Hillcrest area initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with multiple violations, including inoperable lights and a suspended registration.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered a .25-caliber handgun, suspected crack cocaine, and various items of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver, a 46-year-old female resident of Spring Valley, was taken into custody at the scene.

She has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon

  • Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations

The suspect was arraigned and released on her own recognizance, in accordance with current legal guidelines. She is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
