Supervisor Kenny and the Town Board were thrilled to congratulate the Tappan Zee High School Girls Cross Country team and their coaches on winning the 2024 New York State Championship – the first-ever state championship won by a TZHS girls sports team. Well done ladies!

This season has truly been one for the history books, and Jaquan has been an integral piece of the #RedRaiders incredible journey! With 1,600 total yards, 25 touchdowns, 32 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and 1 interception, he’s absolutely dominated the field this year bringing North Rockland back to football greatness.

Johnson has led the team to some unforgettable victories, including the first Section One win since 2011! What a legacy to leave behind. Whether running the ball or locking down the defense, the running back and cornerback have been a game-changer every single time.

Jaquan was also named All League and All Section, AND highlighted by lohud, Gameday One, and as the Raider of the Week! Congratulations Jaquan.

New York Liberty To Celebrate First WNBA Championship With Parade in New York City This Thursday, Oct. 24th

This Thursday, Oct. 24, the New York Liberty will celebrate its first WNBA Championship in franchise history with a ticker tape parade through New York City. The parade will tip off at 10 a.m. from Battery Park and proceed north along Broadway to City Hall, through what is known as the “Canyon of Heroes.” Following the parade, there will be a ceremony at City Hall honoring the New York Liberty at noon.
