Update: The Stony Point Seals And Supporters Plunged Into The Icy Hudson For Charity

The Stony Point Police Department was proud to support the  26th annual Stony Point Seals Polar Plunge into the Hudson River for charity.  

Ignoring five inches of overnight snowfall, members of Rockland’s local charity once again took to the icy waters of the Hudson River, to raise money for local kids. The Seals were joined by Rockland residents who joined together for an important cause.

Piermont Fire Department Were Called To Save A Swan Stuck In The Icy Waters

At approximately 10:30 this morning the Piermont Fire Department Marine and Divers were requested by the Piermont Police Department for a Swan stuck in the ice. As Marine 2 approached, it broke up the ice enough to free the Swan. The Swan was healthy enough to fly away without any apparent injuries.

Stony Point Police Department Reports Road Closure Sunday February 9th

Sunday, February 9, 2025 Grassy Point Rd/River Rd will be CLOSED to all traffic for the Annual Stony Point Seals Inc. Polar Plunge into the icy Hudson River for a great cause. The closure will be approximately 10:30am-1:30pm. Use alternate routes. Or, if you are so inclined – sign up & jump into the icy river for charity!
