NEW CITY, N.Y. — The Arts Council of Rockland (ACOR), in partnership with the Rockland County Industrial Development Agency (RCIDA), will present AI and the Arts: Innovation, Ethics, and Protection on Saturday, November 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the New City Library, 220 N. Main Street. Coffee and light refreshments will be served beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The free professional development workshop aims to help artists navigate the growing intersection between creativity and artificial intelligence. Atreya Mathur, Director of Legal Research at the Center for Art Law in Brooklyn, will lead the session, offering insight into how AI is transforming artistic practice while raising complex legal and ethical questions around authorship, copyright, and originality.

“This program is about empowerment,” said Dorothy Atzl, Executive Director of ACOR. “AI is changing the creative landscape, and we want artists to understand both its opportunities and challenges.”

Open to artists across all disciplines, the workshop will feature an in-depth presentation, Q&A session, and real-world examples illustrating how AI tools are impacting painters, photographers, composers, and more.

Admission is free, but advance registration is encouraged at www.artscouncilofrockland.org/professional-development-workshops.
