West Point releases the identify of cadet killed in training accident

WEST POINT, NY – The West Point cadet who tragically died from injuries sustained in a military vehicle accident during training has been identified as Christopher J. Morgan.

According to West Point, Morgan, 22, was from West Orange, New Jersey. He was a law and legal studies major, and a recruited athlete who was a standout member of the Army Wrestling Team.

Nj.com spoke with Chris Morgan Sr. at the family home.

Lt. Gen. Darryl A. Williams released a statement, saying, “Cadet Morgan was a valued member of the Corps of Cadets and will be missed by all. The entire community is ensuring that our cadets are being cared for physically, emotionally and spiritually. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Morgan family.”
