Clarkstown to Dedicate New City Street in Memory of Army Medic James Anthony Margro KIA in Vietnam

NEW CITY, NY – Supervisor George Hoehmann and the Clarkstown Town Board announce the street dedication of Badger Street in New City in memory of James Anthony Margro, US Army Medic, 101st Airborne, who was killed in action in Vietnam 50 years ago.

On May 13, 1969, Spec. Margro was killed in action when his chopper went down during ‘Operation Apache Snow’ while serving as a Medical Corpsman with the HQ & SPT Co. of the 326th Medical Battalion, 101st Airborne Division.

Spec. Margro received multiple awards for his service: Air Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Medical Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal. He started his tour in Vietnam on 11-24-1968.

A street dedication ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 11:00am at the intersection of Badger Street and Colonial Drive in New City, NY.

James Anthony Margro grew up on Badger Street in New City and several members of his family still reside there.
