After Almost 50 Years In Business, New City Pizza Has New Ownership

NEW CITY, NY – New City Pizza was first opened in 1971 by Gino Principe. It would become one of the most popular pizza places in Rockland County. It was a staple in the Clarkstown community for almost 50 years.

If it was grabbing a slice before a movie at Cinema 6 or a pie after a New City Rams Pop Warner Football game, many Clarkstown residents have fond memories at New City Pizza. People will be remember their legendary “salad” slice or the one of a kind – garlic sticks.

The new owners Andrew Gjleoshi and Frank Paljusaj, also own Nicky’s Pizza in Congers. Both have ties to the community. Gjleoshi, is a 2006 graduate of Clarkstown South High School and has turned Nicky’s Pizza into one of the most successful pizza places in Rockland County.

After a few weeks of construction, they have just completed renovating the interior of the pizza place. Monday was the first day in the era of New City Pizza.
