Meet Dan Maloney, Candidate for Nanuet Fire Commissioner

NANUET, NY – Dan Maloney has been a volunteer firefighter for the past 20 years, first joining the Rockland Lake Fire Department when he turned 16. He was a member of the Rockland Lake Fire House for 14 years. Maloney is running to be Nanuet’s next Fire Commissioner.

Maloney, a Clarkstown Police Officer, would later join the Nanuet Fire Department when he settled down to raise his family in Nanuet 11 years ago. He will be running against incumbent Vincent Pacella.

The Clarkstown PBA has also come out in support of Maloney.

The election is on Tuesday, December 10th and Nanuet residents can vote from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Nanuet FD located at 29 Middletown Road in Nanuet.

An Alligator Was Rescued From The Minisceongo Creek

Today at approximately 11:10am, Haverstraw Police responded to the Minisceongo Creek in the area of Bridge Street in Garnerville for a report of an alligator in the creek.
Haverstraw Police Department personnel assisted in successfully removing the alligator from the water. The Hudson Valley Humane Society of Pomona responded to the scene to take possession and care of the alligator.

UPDATE: Rockland County Firefighters Headed To Orange County To Assist In Greenwood Lake Wildfire

Rockland County fire departments deployed units to Greenwood Lake in Orange County last night to help protect structures threatened by the brush fire. Hillcrest, Blauvelt, Pearl River, New City, West Haverstraw, Central Nyack, Nanuet, Piermont, and Suffern responded.
