GoFundMe Page Set Up For Pearl River Firefighter Injured In Old Well

PEARL RIVER, NY – A GoFundMe page has now been set up for Matt VanOrden, a 20-Year-Old Pearl River Volunteer Firefighter who was severely injured while working on a driveway on Dec 5, 2019. VanOrden, would fall over 25 feet into an abandoned well. According to authorities, he was trapped in the well for over 4 hours.

The GoFundMe has been set up in order to help support Matt Vanordern and his family pay for the medical bills.

At this time, the GoFundMe page has raised $10,510 of its $50,000 goal. GoFundMe LINK HERE.

An Alligator Was Rescued From The Minisceongo Creek

Today at approximately 11:10am, Haverstraw Police responded to the Minisceongo Creek in the area of Bridge Street in Garnerville for a report of an alligator in the creek.
Haverstraw Police Department personnel assisted in successfully removing the alligator from the water. The Hudson Valley Humane Society of Pomona responded to the scene to take possession and care of the alligator.

UPDATE: Rockland County Firefighters Headed To Orange County To Assist In Greenwood Lake Wildfire

Rockland County fire departments deployed units to Greenwood Lake in Orange County last night to help protect structures threatened by the brush fire. Hillcrest, Blauvelt, Pearl River, New City, West Haverstraw, Central Nyack, Nanuet, Piermont, and Suffern responded.
