Nyack, NY – Flotsam, a troupe of musicians, circus artists, and puppeteers traveling on a handmade raft, will be bringing its unique floating performance to Nyack’s Memorial Park. The event is free and open to the public.
The family-friendly performance will take place on the waterfront just below the Pagoda in Memorial Park. The show begins at 6:00 p.m. and will conclude by 7:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and arrive early to secure a good viewing spot.
Flotsam’s performances are designed to entertain audiences of all ages, blending live music, circus arts, and puppetry in a whimsical outdoor setting. The raft itself — an unusual handmade vessel — serves as both stage and spectacle, easily spotted from shore.
While the event is FREE to attend, donations are encouraged to help support the troupe’s ongoing river tour. Suggested contributions range from $10 to $25 per person. Donations can be made in cash at the event or via Venmo at @rivercircus. Flotsam is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and all contributions are tax-deductible.
Parking in the immediate area is limited. Organizers recommend that attendees walk, bike, carpool, or use public transportation when possible. Additional parking is available near the Nyack Marina, accessible via a nearby pedestrian bridge.
Those considering arriving by water should note that the performance is best viewed from shore. Boaters are kindly asked not to position themselves behind the raft during the show.
The Flotsam River Circus tour is made possible with the support of local communities, and the troupe extends its gratitude to the Village of Nyack for its hospitality.
