GameStop to close up to 200 stores this year

WEST NYACK, NY – The world’s biggest video game retailer, GameStop, is closing up to 200 stores as it attempts to stay afloat.

According to Yahoo Finance, GameStop has over 5,700 stores worldwide as of September 2019. “We are on track to close between 180 and 200 underperforming stores globally by the end of this fiscal year,” GameStop CFO Jim Ryan said on the company’s Q2 earnings call Tuesday.

There are currently 3 GameStop locations in the Rockland County area.
