The Haverstraw Police Department responded Monday afternoon to a reported domestic dispute involving a weapon at a residence on Mackey Court in the Village of West Haverstraw, authorities said.
Police arrived at approximately 4:34 p.m. and found a male victim inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately rendered medical aid before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains under medical care.
According to investigators, officers took Tevin Williams, 28, of West Haverstraw, into custody at the scene. Williams, who lives at the location of the incident, was transported to the Haverstraw Police Department for processing.
Williams has been charged with the following offenses:

Attempted Murder in the Second Degree (PL 110/125.25[1])

Criminal Use of a Firearm in the First Degree (PL 265.09[1][a])

Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (PL 265.02 – three counts)

Criminal Possession of a Firearm (PL 265.01-b[1])
The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office BCI, the FBI–Westchester Safe Streets Task Force, and the Rockland County Intelligence Center assisted at the scene.
Williams was arraigned in the Village of West Haverstraw Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility, police said.
The incident remains under active investigation.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
