on

The National Weather Service (NWS) in New York has increased forecast snow totals for this weekend as two separate storm systems are expected to impact the region.

The first system is forecast to move in early Saturday morning and continue through around lunchtime. Forecasters say this initial round of snow could bring a coating to as much as 2 inches across the area.

A second storm is expected to arrive Sunday afternoon and persist into the evening hours. This system has been trending closer to the coast, increasing the potential for additional snowfall, particularly in Rockland County and surrounding areas.

Residents are advised to closely monitor updated forecasts and exercise caution if traveling this weekend, as changing conditions could affect roadways and visibility. Officials note that further updates will be provided as the forecast becomes clearer.
