Spring Valley PD Utilize Bike Patrol Unit for First Time in over a Decade

SPRING VALLEY, NY – The Spring Valley Police Department is happy to announce that for the first time in over a decade, we will be deploying our newly formed Bike Patrol unit to deter crime in the Village and enhance our relationship with the community. Eight Spring Valley police officers are assigned to this unit and will be patrolling the Village on Mountain Bikes.

 

This was made possible with the Department of Justice “Edward Byrne Memorial JAG Grant” and support from the Spring Valley Rotary, Valley Cycle, and Spring Valley Wide World of Cars- BMW.

Congratulations To The Clarkstown Police Department Youth Police Academy

Captain Fay, Captain Cummings, Supervisor Hoehmann, and the entire Town Board were proud to attend the graduation of the Clarkstown Police Department Youth Police Academy. This outstanding group of high school students has successfully completed a rigorous 10-week program, gaining valuable, hands-on experience in various aspects of law enforcement.
Throughout the program, students learned valuable skills and knowledge in areas such as defensive tactics, criminal investigation, and crime scene forensics, among others. Their hard work, dedication, and passion for learning were evident in their commitment to the program.
A special thank you to Lt. Kieran Dwyer and our dedicated Clarkstown Police Department School Resource Officers for their leadership and guidance in making this program a success.
We are incredibly proud of our future leaders and the next generation of law enforcement professionals!

HPD Kicks Off The 2025 Season Of Cops And Kids Program At Fieldstone Middle School

The initial session of the Cops and Kids program in 2025 kicked off today at Fieldstone Middle School with a friendly game of dodgeball. This program is an opportunity for our department to connect with the youth in the community.
School Resource Officer Joe Bertolino, along with Police Officers Aquino and Fit, joined the students in the game, creating a fun environment that encouraged interaction between the kids and the police officers. We thank the North Rockland School District for their partnership and collaboration.
