Spring Valley, NY — Spring Valley High School’s Tanyiah Joseph continues to make headlines after a standout performance at the New York State Championship Track & Field Meet this past weekend. Tanyiah raced to a 2nd place finish in the 100-meter dash, and also claimed 3rd place in the Federation section of the same event — proving she is one of the fastest high school sprinters in New York State.

With explosive speed and unwavering determination, Tanyiah’s performance electrified the crowd and highlighted her as a top contender on the track. Her dedication and hard work have now earned her a spot at Nationals in Philadelphia, where she will compete this Thursday against some of the best young athletes from across the country.

Spring Valley High School and the greater Rockland County community are rallying behind the rising star as she prepares for the national stage.

“Tanyiah’s success is a testament to her discipline, talent, and the support of her coaches and teammates,” said School Board Member Sabrina Charles Pierre. “We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and excited to see what she does next.”
