ifelong Rockland Resident Djinsad Desir Announces Candidacy for Rockland County Court Judge
“Yesterday in front of family and friends I announced that I’m officially running to be the next County Judge of Rockland County. I’ve been a judge for over 10 years and have lived in Rockland my entire life. I know this place. I believe I’m just the right judge at just the right time for Rockland County. Thank you to everyone for the wonderful turn out and for all of your support!” said Desir.
Judge Desir is a seasoned jurist with a decade of judicial experience. He is a proud graduate of North Rockland High School. A son of Haitian immigrants, after law school he came back to Rockland County and worked at the Legal Aid Society of Rockland County where he represented tenants and homeowners in local and state courts. Today, Judge Desir not only serves as a Justice of the Town of Ramapo, but has also worked for 7 years as a Principal Court Attorney, supporting a County Court Judge by providing complex legal research, writing, and offering confidential advice and support.
Prior to being elected a Ramapo Town Justice in 2020, he served 8 years as a Spring Valley Village Justice, one of the busiest local courts in the county.
