Published

on

Ramapo PD is warning our residents about a present phone scam that could potentially expose personal information and cause financial loss if a person falls victim to it. They appear to be calling to request help after being arrested or involved in a crash, and they are desperately asking for bail money or credit card information. Scammers even make additional calls pretending to be a bail bondsman or a representative from the district attorney’s office trying to get the victim to wire money or give out personal details. If anyone receives a call like this, they should report it to their local police department.
