Detective Margaret “Peggy” Braddock marked her final walkout this week, closing an extraordinary law enforcement career defined by dedication, compassion, and service to the Town of Ramapo.
Detective Braddock served the Ramapo community for 25 years as part of a 33-year career in law enforcement. Throughout her tenure, she held a variety of key roles, including Field Training Officer, Police Instructor, and Intelligence Officer, helping shape both investigations and the next generation of officers.
During her career, Braddock played a direct role in numerous high-profile cases, including investigations involving kidnappings, homicides, white-collar crimes, and an attempted murder plot. Colleagues noted that her commitment to justice and her compassion for victims left a lasting impact on the community.
Outside of her investigative work, Braddock was also deeply committed to honoring fallen officers. An avid bicyclist, she participated in the Police Unity Tour ten times, raising more than $30,000 to support the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum in Washington, D.C.
As Detective Braddock enters retirement, fellow officers and community members alike expressed gratitude for her decades of service and leadership. While her career in uniform has come to a close, those who worked alongside her say her positive influence and legacy will continue.
Congratulations to Detective Margaret “Peggy” Braddock on her retirement, and thank you for your service to the Town of Ramapo.
