NYS Police investigate double-fatal car crash in Monroe

The New York State Police in Monroe and Haverstraw responded to a two car fatal crash at 11:00 p.m. on Friday May 3, 2019 on State Route 6 in the town of Woodbury. The investigation revealed that a 2007 Dodge Caliber, traveling West on State Route 6 crossed over into the Eastbound lane. A 2016 Nissan Titan was traveling East and moved into the opposite lane to avoid the Dodge. The Dodge Caliber corrected itself moving back into the Westbound lane striking the Nissan Titan.

The only two occupants of the Dodge Caliber, Jennifer Haines, age 37 of Beacon, NY and Giosue Falanga, age 29 of Middletown, NY were pronounced deceased at the scene. There were four occupants in the Nissan Titan. Two of the occupants were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with non life threatening injuries and the other two occupants were transported to Orange Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.

Clarkstown Police Department Temporary Road Closure April 22-April 25th Valley Cottage

Gilchrest Rd will be temporarily closed beginning, Monday, April 22 to Thursday, April 25, at the railroad crossing between Stern Place and Sasson Terrace in Valley Cottage. This closure is due to construction upgrades being performed by CSX. Please follow the posted detours provided by CSX.
