STONY POINT, NY – ***12/25/19 0500am UPDATE- The Vehicle and Driver have been located by police. If anyone is a witness to this accident or has information about this incident, they are asked to please contact the Detective Bureau of the Stony Point Police Dept. at 845-786-2422 as the investigation is on-going.

The pedestrian who was struck was transported to Westchester Medical. Sources tell us that the pedestrian has since passed away from his injuries.

On Tuesday December 24, 2019 at approximately 9:42pm the Stony Point Police responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian at the intersection of Rt 9W and Filors Lane. We are looking for a smaller Silver SUV, possibly a 2003-05 Honda Pilot with front grill damage. The vehicle/operator wanted for questioning was last seen ( attached video clip) traveling south on RT 9W from Filors Lane. Any information on the vehicle or if you may have witnessed this incident, please contact the Stony Point Police Department at 845-786-2422. (*Driver has since been located)

An Alligator Was Rescued From The Minisceongo Creek

Today at approximately 11:10am, Haverstraw Police responded to the Minisceongo Creek in the area of Bridge Street in Garnerville for a report of an alligator in the creek.
Haverstraw Police Department personnel assisted in successfully removing the alligator from the water. The Hudson Valley Humane Society of Pomona responded to the scene to take possession and care of the alligator.

UPDATE: Rockland County Firefighters Headed To Orange County To Assist In Greenwood Lake Wildfire

Rockland County fire departments deployed units to Greenwood Lake in Orange County last night to help protect structures threatened by the brush fire. Hillcrest, Blauvelt, Pearl River, New City, West Haverstraw, Central Nyack, Nanuet, Piermont, and Suffern responded.
