On April 2, 2025, at approximately 12:45 PM, officers from the Clarkstown Police Department responded to a report of three males trespassing and smoking marijuana in the laundry room of the New City Garden Apartments, located at 160 N Main St, New City.

Upon arrival, officers observed the three males sitting on top of washing machines while smoking marijuana. After identifying the individuals, officers conducted a warrant check, which revealed that one of the males, identified as Julio Martinez, 24, of Stony Point, had an active warrant out of Dutchess County for possession of a weapon. Officers handcuffed and searched Julio Martinez, discovering a loaded 9mm magazine in the pocket of his vest. A brief search of the area where Martinez had been sitting led to the recovery of a SIG semi-automatic handgun. During the investigation, it was determined that the recovered firearm was the same weapon reported stolen to the Clarkstown Police Department by the registered owner just a week earlier. Detectives interviewed the other two males involved and released them thereafter.

In addition to the warrant out of Dutchess County, Martinez now faces the following additional charges as a result of this arrest:

– Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree (Loaded Firearm Class C Felony

– Criminal Possession of a Firearm—Class E Felony

– Criminal Possession of Stolen Property—Class E Felony

– Unlawful Possession of Certain Ammunition Feeding Devices—Misdemeanor

Julio Martinez was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and where his bail was set at $10,000 cash, $20,000 bond, or $40,000 partially secured bond. He was transferred to the Rockland County Jail at the conclusion of the arraignment.

This arrest reflects the ongoing efforts of the Clarkstown Police Department to ensure the safety and security of our community by addressing illicit criminal behavior.

It should be noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On March 31, 2025, the Haverstraw Police Department located and arrested Carlos Sepulveda, 43, of West Haverstraw, New York, in connection with a residential burglary that recently occurred. Mr. Sepulveda was identified as the suspect depicted in a circulated image related to the incident.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation into a reported incident where a suspect allegedly entered a residence and stole a package.

Mr. Sepulveda has been charged with the following:

Burglary 2nd Degree (Class C Felony)

Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree (Class B Misdemeanor)

Petit Larceny (Class A Misdemeanor)

Following his arrest, Mr. Sepulveda was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court. He was subsequently remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility.
