Rockland County Legislator Toney Earl Endorses David Carlucci For Congress

NEW CITY, NY – Rockland County Legislator Toney Earl (D) endorsed Senator David Carlucci for Congress in New York’s 17th Congressional District to succeed U.S. Representative Nita Lowey. Earl, an executive member of the NAACP, Spring Valley Chapter, represents Hillcrest and a part of Spring Valley in the Rockland County legislature.

“I’ve seen David Carlucci in action. He cares deeply about his community and not just for some people, for all people. I truly believe that. He has shown true leadership in the face of crisis. He has stood up time and time again for Rockland County, and he has the experience and knowledge on the issues to deliver results,” said Rockland County Legislator Toney Earl.

“Having Legislator Earl’s endorsement means a lot,” said Senator David Carlucci. “We have worked together over the years, and I have so much respect for Toney. Together, we will work to lift up every community in Rockland County. Given my experience, I am ready to hit the ground running in Washington to tackle the COVID-19 response, criminal justice reform, education funding and so many other issues impacting residents in Rockland and Westchester Counties.”

Recently, Earl and Carlucci worked with fellow lawmakers to open a COVID-19 testing site in Spring Valley, and previously they worked on safeguarding school funding for the East Ramapo Central School District due to the COVID-19 closures.

This is Carlucci’s first endorsement from a Rockland County elected official. He has also been endorsed by the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, IBEW Local Union 363, Rockland County Building and Construction Trades Council (RCBCTC), Teamsters Local 445, IUOE Local 825, and Local Laborers 754.

Know Your Rights
1) If a person believes they are eligible and tries to vote but the Board of Elections’ records indicate such person is not eligible, that voter has a right to cast an affidavit ballot. Voters may also seek a courtorder.
2) Voters “online or in the polling place” at the time an early voting center closes shall be permitted to vote.
3) All Early Voting Centers comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Voting Rights Act.

Monday, Nov 4, 2024 – Deadline to apply for an absentee ballot in person at the Board.

Tuesday, Nov 5, 2024 – General Election Day.
