NYACK, NY – NY-17 Democratic Congressional Candidate Mondaire Jones launched his second television ad, which features him as the only candidate supporting Medicare for All and emphasizes his personal struggles affording health care growing up.

The ad, titled “Grateful,” showcases the essential workers who have helped everyone throughout the COVID-19 crisis and focuses on the human right to health care. Amidst a public health crisis, this ad demonstrates how Jones personally understands the fear of not being able to afford health care and underlines that he is the only candidate in his race supporting Medicare for All, which is overwhelmingly popular among Democrats (including Rep. Nita Lowey, who co-sponsored the legislation in 2017 and 2019).

I’m grateful to the grocery store workers and delivery people who helped us get through this crisis.

Don’t they deserve affordable health care? Doesn’t everyone?

I’m Mondaire Jones. I grew up on food stamps and know what it’s like to be scared of getting sick because you can’t afford a doctor.

No one should lose their health care because they lost their job. That’s why I’m the only Democrat for Congress supporting Medicare for All.

I approve this message, because this is personal to me.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — A new Siena College Poll released today shows Governor Kathy Hochul maintaining commanding leads over all three potential Republican challengers in hypothetical 2026 New York gubernatorial match-ups. The poll shows Rockland’s Congressman Mike Lawler outperforming Stefanik versus Hochul in the general election.

According to the poll of registered voters across the state, Hochul leads Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman 44-19%, Representative Elise Stefanik 47-24%, and Representative Mike Lawler 44-24%. These results are largely unchanged from May, indicating a stable political landscape heading into the second half of 2025.

“A first look at how New York voters feel about potential gubernatorial matchups shows that partisanship wins out,” said Siena College Research Institute Director Don Levy. “Hochul leads Lawler by 20 points, Stefanik by 23 points, and Blakeman by 25 points.”

Democrats and Republicans Show Clear Preferences for 2026

Among Democratic voters, Hochul remains the overwhelming favorite in a possible primary scenario, garnering 49% support. She is well ahead of Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado (12%) and Representative Ritchie Torres (10%). These numbers are virtually unchanged from last month’s Siena poll.

On the Republican side, voters are rallying most strongly behind Elise Stefanik, who leads the GOP field with 35% support, compared to Mike Lawler’s 18% and Bruce Blakeman’s 7%.

Rockland County Republican and Conservative Parties Endorse Curtis Sliwa for NYC Mayor, Cite Dangers of Far-Left Agenda

Rockland County, NY — The Rockland County Republican and Conservative Parties have officially endorsed Curtis Sliwa in his campaign for Mayor of New York City, calling him the leader best equipped to restore safety, order, and common sense to a city they say is spiraling under radical progressive policies.

In a joint announcement, local party leaders voiced strong support for Sliwa’s platform, emphasizing his long-standing record on public safety, quality-of-life issues, and advocacy for working-class New Yorkers. The endorsement comes just months before the high-stakes November mayoral election.

“Curtis Sliwa is a fighter who understands what everyday people are going through,” said a joint statement from both parties. “His commitment to lowering crime, restoring public order, and bringing back practical leadership is exactly what New York needs.”

The endorsement also delivered a stark warning about the growing influence of far-left lawmakers like Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, who represents parts of Queens. Party officials criticized Mamdani’s progressive platform, which includes proposals to defund the police, eliminate rent obligations, and dismantle traditional public safety systems.

“Mamdani’s vision is one of chaos and dysfunction, driven by ideology rather than reality,” the statement continued. “Policies like his are accelerating New York City’s decline, and the ripple effects are being felt across the entire region.”

With thousands of Rockland County residents commuting daily to New York City for work, school, or business, local leaders argue that the city’s well-being has direct regional consequences. They say Sliwa’s leadership is vital not only for city residents but also for suburban communities like Rockland that depend on a stable, functioning metropolis.

“When the city fails, we all feel it. Rockland families rely on New York City, and we cannot afford another administration that puts politics over public safety.”

The Rockland Republican and Conservative Parties are urging voters—in NYC and across the metro region—to rally behind Curtis Sliwa and reject what they describe as “extremist policies that threaten the future of the Metropolitan Area.”

Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels and a longtime advocate for crime prevention and civic responsibility, has pledged to crack down on lawlessness, support law enforcement, and rebuild trust between government and the people.
