NEW CITY, NY – The Rockland County Department of Health (RCDOH) announces that the COVID-19 2nd dose vaccination clinics scheduled for Saturday, February 20, 2021, from 9 AM – 1 PM and Monday, February 22, 2021, from 9 AM – 6 PM have been rescheduled to Saturday, February 27, 2021, from 9 AM – 1 PM and Monday, March 1, 2021, from 9 AM – 6 PM due to the delay in shipment of vaccine as a result of extreme cold weather-related conditions across the country. The shipment of vaccines to be used at the RCDOH clinics has been delayed in order to protect the integrity of the vaccine to keep everyone safe.

Appointment days and times are rescheduled one week from your originally scheduled appointment.

If you have an appointment for Saturday, February 20th, to be vaccinated at the Rockland County Department of Health clinic, you will receive a COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday, February 27th, at the same time as your original appointment.

If you have an appointment for Monday, February 22nd, to be vaccinated at the Rockland County Department of Health clinic, you will receive a COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, March 1st, at the same time as your original appointment.

No new appointments will be scheduled, and you should come at the same time as your original appointment was scheduled. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

Per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), when a delay in vaccination is unavoidable, the second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines may be administered up to 6 weeks (42 days) after the first dose. Pending the arrival of vaccine, you will receive your second dose from the RCDOH within this time frame.

If you are unable to come on your rescheduled day and time, please email the County’s COVID-19 Hotline at [email protected] or call 845-238-1956 to cancel; you will need to come for your second dose as soon as possible and will be prioritized for a rescheduled appointment upon receipt of our next allocation of COVID-19 vaccine from New York State.

The Health Department will continue to evaluate the dates and times of future clinics based on supply and if we are forced to reschedule, those with an appointment will be contacted directly via a robocall and/or email.

Please disregard any automatic text messages or email reminders about your original appointment as those reminders are being sent directly from the New York State registration site and do not reflect local changes.

As a result of delayed shipment of vaccine, no additional 1st dose Points of Distribution (PODs) are currently planned.

“We are working as quickly as possible to get residents fully vaccinated and are committed to administering vaccine quickly when it is received,” said County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert. “We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are at the mercy of vaccine shipments and weather-related delays that impact scheduled 2nd dose appointments.”
