Aidan Rowan, 18-Year-Old Republican From Stony Point To Run For NYS Senate

STONY POINT, NY – Aidan Rowan, an 18-Year-Old Republican from Stony Point (NY) announces he will be running for the New York State Senate in the 39th District against incumbent Senator James Skoufis. He released the following statement on social media:

Good day everyone. Today, I am taking this opportunity to announce my Candidacy for NY State Senate,
representing the constituents in Senate District 39, which includes parts of northern Rockland, eastern Orange County and lower Ulster County.

Over the prior 12 months and beyond, NY has engaged in an increasingly dangerous Progressive Path
which we – as Citizens of this great Empire State – can no longer afford.

From Bail Reform, to ninth month late-term abortions, to the new Green-Light Law for undocumented individuals which could lead to illegitimate voting privileges, to 5-hour long breaks during critical budget votes.

My decision to pursue elected office was not arrived at casually. Having been engaged during the last three
years with various Local, State, and Federal campaigns, I have come to understand the numerous issues
that are affecting the citizens of NY and would like to offer a different path forward.

NY State has always been my home for as long as I can remember; I am a born and raised native New Yorker. My grandparents immigrated to this Great Country and settled here in Rockland County. From across the ocean, they envisioned and heard of NY as a beacon of hope and opportunity. Through hard work they were able to achieve the American Dream.

Today however, New York:
 Tops the list as the number one state of mass populace exodus
 Continues to encounter significant contractions and migration in various business sectors
 Continues to have significant aging and crumbling infrastructure issues that remain unaddressed,
 Continues to have missed opportunities for jobs and growth

It has always been my intention to one day raise a family here. Now, there will be detractors who will raise the issue of my age. At almost 19 years, I believe as you come to know me, I am mature beyond my years and have a significant amount of contributions to create for the citizens of this great state and potential new citizens as well.

My name is Aidan Michael Rowan; help me restore NY to its prominence as a State of Hope and Opportunity for our current as well as future generations.

UPDATE: Rowan would withdraw his name from running for the seat.
