Assemblyman Schmitt Releases Statement on Gov. Cuomo Assembly Impeachment Investigation

Published

on

Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt (Stony Point) released the following statement regarding the announcement that a formal impeachment investigation will commence in the State Assembly:

“I welcome the announcement of a formal State Assembly impeachment investigation into our corrupt and morally bankrupt Governor. For nearly 2 months, I, alongside my colleagues in the Assembly minority conference have called for the investigation, resignation, and impeachment of Governor Cuomo for his criminal coverup of the deaths of nearly 15,000 nursing home residents. Now, coupled with numerous allegations of sexual harassment, misconduct, and assault, the time for waiting is over.

“Following new reporting that the Governor abused his powers and is accused of sexually assaulting a staffer in the Governor’s mansion, no one can remain silent any longer. I support this impeachment investigation of Governor Cuomo and my deepest sympathies go out to all of his victims — the families of those lost due to his criminal negligence during COVID and those who endured sexual harassment and assault directly from the Governor. It is time to impeach Cuomo.”

This program helps reduce misunderstandings, lowers anxiety, and fosters a more empathetic and safer environment for everyone. 💙
How to Get a Blue Envelope:
Reach out to autism advocacy organizations in your area or your local sheriff’s office to obtain one. Together, we can promote understanding and safety on the road!
