Assemblyman Zebrowski’s Remarks to MTA on Proposed Rockland Rail Service Elimination

“With Rockland County facing a possible elimination of all rail service, I spoke at the MTA’s hearing on the fare and toll proposal last tonight. Although the hearing was on their proposed fare and toll increase, the real concern should be that Rocklanders won’t even have service to pay fares for in 2021.
I made it clear to the MTA board, we need them to reject the absurd proposal to cancel all West of Hudson rail service.
‘I’ve had a bill for a number of years (A1883) that would allow Rockland County to withdraw from MTA…I’m here tonight to tell you that every Rockland representative will push for that bill; we will withdraw from the MTA if that happens.'”
