This week, the Town of Ramapo Police Department will be taking part in the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee “No Empty Chair” campaign. During this five-day initiative RPD will be focusing on a different traffic safety threat each day of the week.

Clarkstown, NY – Prom and graduation season is here, and students across Clarkstown are getting ready to celebrate. The Clarkstown Police Department wants to help make sure those celebrations are safe and full of happy memories — not marked by tragedy.

That’s why we’re taking part in the 2025 “No Empty Chair” campaign, a statewide effort running April 21–25 to promote safe driving among teens. The campaign reminds everyone of what’s at stake: making sure there are no “empty chairs” at graduation because of a preventable crash.

Clarkstown Police are working with schools and families to raise awareness and keep teens safe. Let’s all do our part to make this season one to remember — for the right reasons.
