DA Tom Walsh Is Alerting The Public To An E-Z Pass Text Message Scam That Rockland County Residents Are Receiving

Residents have reported receiving SMS text messages attempting to collect tolls. These fake texts are often sent from an international number or email address requesting the consumer to reply with “Y” to receive a link and contain an unofficial website. Consumers should be aware that E-Z Pass or Tolls by Mail will never send a text or email requesting sensitive personal information such as credit card, birthday, Social Security number or other personally identifiable information.
If you are unsure about a message you received, call E-Z Pass directly at 1-800-333-8655 or Tolls by Mail at 1-844-826-8400. See something suspicious or illegal? You can report it anonymously using the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office tip411. Haverstraw Police Department Make Arrest In Connection To A Sexual Assault Investigation

Haverstraw, NY (March 3, 2025): The Haverstraw Police Department has arrested Brahyan CepinRodriguez, 22, in connection with an alleged sexual assault reported in the Village of Haverstraw in December 2024.
In late December 2024, the Haverstraw Police Department responded to a report of a sexual assault. Following an extensive investigation, CepinRodriguez was identified as a suspect and has been charged with two counts of Rape in the 1st degree.
CepinRodriguez was located and arrested last week by Haverstraw Police personnel and subsequently arraigned in the Village of Haverstraw Justice Court. Bail was set at $25,000 cash, $40,000 bond, or $40,000 partially secured bond.
The investigation is still active, and further details will be released as they become available.
It should be noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

NYS Police Traffic Stop on NYS Thruway in Rockland County Leads to Drug Seizure

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY – On February 28, 2025, New York State Troopers from Troop T, SP Tarrytown, participating in the Rockland County Violent Crime Suppression Detail, arrested a Rensselaer and Bronx man for possession of a large quantity of narcotics with intent to sell on Interstate 87 in the Town of Ramapo.

At approximately 8:26 p.m., the Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2019 Honda Pilot for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on the New York State Thruway. The Troopers identified the driver as Robert Morales, age 57, of Rensselaer, and his passenger as Irving Prado, age 51, of the Bronx.

A subsequent investigation ensued. K-9 Odin was deployed and alerted on the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, which resulted in approximately 48.5 grams of Fentanyl and approximately 56 grams of Crack Cocaine being seized as evidence.

Both were arrested and charged with two counts of violating sections 220.16 subsection 12 (Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, Possession Narcotic Drug Weight ½ Oz or More) and 220.16 subsection 1 (Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd , Intent to Sell) both class B felonies of the penal law.

The suspects were arraigned before the Honorable Judge Michael Bongiorno in Clarkstown town court and ordered held at the Rockland County Jail. They are scheduled to reappear in Ramapo town court on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
