In memory of 34 year member and Ex-Chief of the South Spring Valley Fire Department Jon “Booger” Lacher (1969 – 2020)

Booger (as he was fondly referred to) was a proud member of the South Spring Valley Fire Department and cherished protecting the community for as long as he did. He had a joke for every situation (bad or good) but was always someone you can go to for help and advice. Jon wasn’t just a fireman. He was a loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend.

As we all go through these hard times and tribulations. Please remember Jon and his family in your prayers.

Tragedy in Orange County: A 50-year-old dad and his two young sons die in house fire

ORANGE COUNTY, NY – Tragedy in Orange County: A 50-year-old dad and his two young sons died in a house fire on Saturday night on Pulaski Highway in Goshen, located in Orange County, NY.

Both sons were nonverbal and had autism, according to News 12.

State police said emergency crews arrived at the fire just after 8 p.m. and found the home completely engulfed in flames. One neighbor said he saw about 30 trucks that were filled with responders.
