Laborers Local 754 Endorse Mike Lawler for State Assembly

CHESTNUT RIDGE, NY – Laborers Local 754, the local chapter of one of the largest unions in New York State, endorsed Mike Lawler in his race for the 97th Assembly District today.

Lawler, who is running on a platform of economic growth, responsible development, and investment in Rockland County, spoke about the importance of the Laborers Local 754’s endorsement in this close Assembly race.

“It’s an honor to have the backing of the hard-working men and women of the Laborers Local 754,” said Lawler. “Their members have helped build Rockland County to where it is today and I am thankful to have their support.”

The New York State Laborers’ Union represents over 40,000 members employed in the construction industry and other fields throughout the state.Their members are organized into more than 24 local unions and 5 district councils, and are affiliated with the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA).

“Mike is a strong supporter of organized labor who will fight for us in Albany,” said Stephen Reich, business manager of the Laborers Local 754. “We need honest, hard-working people representing our community in Albany, and that’s exactly why we’re backing Mike in this race.”

“Mike’s commitment to improving our state, county, and local communities is clear, and we have his back in this endeavor.”

A large crowd of Rockland residents gathered at Clarkstown Town Hall to witness Senator Bill Weber being sworn in for his second term in office. Police Chaplain David Lothrop served as the Master of Ceremonies, while County Legislator Lon Hofstein introduced the distinguished guests in attendance. County Executive Ed Day delivered remarks, highlighting the importance of having Senator Weber championing Rockland’s interests in Albany. The ceremony featured an invocation by Rabbi Abraham Horowitz of Spring Valley and a benediction by Reverend Teresa Darden of Nyack. Ava Aston performed stirring renditions of the national anthem and God Bless America. ” Thanks to all who participated and kudos to Clarkstown’s Police Honor Guard for enhancing the ceremony!”

New City Attorney Nabeela McLeod To Run For Rockland County Family Court

Nabeela is currently the Court Attorney for Rockland County Court Judge Djinsad Desir and was an Executive Assistant District Attorney at the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office where she worked for 18 years. In that time, she prosecuted cases involving murder, assault, burglary, and robbery.
Nabeela has lived in Rockland County for over 20 years with her husband, and are raising their two daughters Maya and Mina in Clarkstown.
