Meet Ann Berry, Candidate for Congers Fire Commissioner

CONGERS, NY – Ann Berry is the wife of Congers Fire Department Life Member – Joe Berry, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and a lifelong Rockland County resident who is running for Congers Fire Commissioner.

If elected, she will be the first female to hold the position as Congers Fire Commissioner.

Berry, a Nurse with a Masters Degree, touts her over 32 years experience in budgeting and running programs that will translate to benefit the firemen and commissioners to oversee the departments finances. Mike Kopf is also running for the position.

An Alligator Was Rescued From The Minisceongo Creek

Today at approximately 11:10am, Haverstraw Police responded to the Minisceongo Creek in the area of Bridge Street in Garnerville for a report of an alligator in the creek.

Haverstraw Police Department personnel assisted in successfully removing the alligator from the water. The Hudson Valley Humane Society of Pomona responded to the scene to take possession and care of the alligator.

UPDATE: Rockland County Firefighters Headed To Orange County To Assist In Greenwood Lake Wildfire

Rockland County fire departments deployed units to Greenwood Lake in Orange County last night to help protect structures threatened by the brush fire. Hillcrest, Blauvelt, Pearl River, New City, West Haverstraw, Central Nyack, Nanuet, Piermont, and Suffern responded.
