NEW CITY, NY – The Town of Clarkstown closed a section of Main Street from Congers Road to Demarest Avenue to vehicular traffic creating a space where a number of restaurants could expand outdoor seating.

We spoke with Catherine Levins, the owner of River Court on Main, about the event.

As Rockland County is now in Phase II, outdoor dining in now permitted. The event was put together by Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann, the Town Board, and the New City Chamber of Commerce .

Palisades Mall Reopens The Iconic Ferris Wheel

The 60-foot tall attraction is the only indoor Ferris Wheel in New York. It is now open daily in the Food Court from 12:30 to 8 PM. The mall will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, January 18th from 12 to 3 PM that’ll feature live entertainment and half-price rides for all guests. The Ferris Wheel had been part of Palisades Center since the mall opened in 1998. The carousel was removed in 2021 and replaced with a rock climbing wall. – WRCR.

This is their first location and are proudly representing Rockland County. “Uptown Coffee Bar is a new coffee shop in West Nyack, across from the Palisades Mall. UCB will differentiate itself by having a fun urban/multicultural vibe and friendly service. Our coffee is sourced from La Colombe, a specialty roaster that offers coffee/espresso that is a step up from Starbucks, Dunkin’, and the other coffee shops in the area.”
