Meet Mike Kopf, Candidate for Congers Fire Commissioner

CONGERS, NY – Mike Kopf is a 20 year veteran of the Rockland County Fire Service, a small business owner, Police Officer, and is running for the open Congers Fire Commissioner seat.

Kopf, looks to use his experience as a small business owner of a mechanical service corporation to make sure complex jobs get completed on time and on budget. He also touts his over 20 years of front line firefighting that would be make him a valuable asset to Congers. Also running for the seat is Ann Berry.

All residents of Congers can vote at the Congers Fire Department located at 70 North RT. 9W – Congers from 6 – 9 pm on December 10, 2019.

An Alligator Was Rescued From The Minisceongo Creek

Today at approximately 11:10am, Haverstraw Police responded to the Minisceongo Creek in the area of Bridge Street in Garnerville for a report of an alligator in the creek.
Haverstraw Police Department personnel assisted in successfully removing the alligator from the water. The Hudson Valley Humane Society of Pomona responded to the scene to take possession and care of the alligator.

UPDATE: Rockland County Firefighters Headed To Orange County To Assist In Greenwood Lake Wildfire

Rockland County fire departments deployed units to Greenwood Lake in Orange County last night to help protect structures threatened by the brush fire. Hillcrest, Blauvelt, Pearl River, New City, West Haverstraw, Central Nyack, Nanuet, Piermont, and Suffern responded.
Please keep all the first responders, home owners and residents in your thoughts and prayers.
