NYACK, NY – Mondaire Jones, Democratic nominee in New York’s 17th Congressional District, announced he earned the endorsement of U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Jones previously earned endorsements from Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and Ed Markey (D-MA), as well as President Barack Obama.
“Mondaire Jones has been an activist, a community leader, and a champion for working people, and I’m proud to endorse him,” said Schumer. “Over the past few months, I’ve had the fortune of meeting, getting to know, and directly working with Mondaire on issues and have absolutely no doubt that he will hit the ground running on day one in office. Raised by a single mom who relied on Section 8 housing and food stamps, Mondaire knows the struggles facing too many across our state and right here in the Hudson Valley because he’s lived them and is committed to working together in a bicameral way to deliver results for his district. As New Yorkers, we don’t back away from a fight, and I know Mondaire will bring that energy to Washington to deliver real change for the people of the 17th Congressional District.”
“I’m honored to have the support of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, a tireless advocate for working families in New York and across the country,” said Jones. “Senator Schumer demonstrates true leadership and public service, and I look forward to working alongside him to build a future that New Yorkers deserve.”
