Official: Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann Running For NYS Senate

NEW CITY, NY – In front of the Rockland County Republican Committee, Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann accepted the Republican nomination to run for the New York State Senate’s 38th District.

We were the first to report last week that Supervisor Hoehmann was Seriously Considering running for New York State Senate. Over the last couple weeks, Hoehmann has conducted polling and has had meetings with NYS GOP party leaders. The seat is currently held by Senator David Carlucci (D), who is running for Congress and not seeking re-election.

At this time, the announced Democratic candidates vying for the parties nomination are; Clarkstown Town Clerk Justin Sweet, Spring Valley Trustee Eudson Francois, Tony Martinez, and Nyack Trustee Elijah Reichlin-Melnick.

Senator Bill Weber Sworn in for a Second Term

A large crowd of Rockland residents gathered at Clarkstown Town Hall to witness Senator Bill Weber being sworn in for his second term in office. Police Chaplain David Lothrop served as the Master of Ceremonies, while County Legislator Lon Hofstein introduced the distinguished guests in attendance. County Executive Ed Day delivered remarks, highlighting the importance of having Senator Weber championing Rockland’s interests in Albany. The ceremony featured an invocation by Rabbi Abraham Horowitz of Spring Valley and a benediction by Reverend Teresa Darden of Nyack.
