Members from Jawonio in Rockland were recognized in an on-field ceremony prior to yesterday’s New York Yankees game

Founded in 1947 by a group of families that believed their children with disabilities had the potential to live full and productive lives, Jawonio, an indigenous word for “Independence,” has become an essential resource for families in Rockland and Westchester Counties, providing care for children and adults with special needs.

Albertus Magnus High School Girls Basketball are Section 1 Class AA Champions

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY – The top-seeded Albertus Magnus Falcons defeated second-seeded Ursuline high school to take the Section 1 Class AA title, 57-50, on Saturday night.

Albertus Magnus’ Allie Falesto was named MVP of the Section 1 Class AA tournament and had a game high 20 points in the championship game.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY – Suffern HS Senior Captain Charlie Windwer, one of the best high school players in New York, scored two goals to lead the Mounties to a 4 – 0 victory over Clarkstown (combination of North & South HS) 4 – 0.
