Members of the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Rose, 43, of New City, following a traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of more than five ounces of heroin.
On the above date and time, deputies were on patrol in Rockland County when they observed Rose operating a vehicle while committing multiple violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. A traffic stop was initiated, and during the course of the investigation, deputies developed probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle.
During the search, officers discovered a large Ziploc bag concealed behind the vehicle’s radio. The bag contained approximately 5.26 ounces of heroin.
Rose was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following offenses:

One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree (CPCS-2nd)

One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (CPCS-3rd)

One count of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia
Rose was arraigned in the Town of Clarkstown Justice Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office remains vigilant and proactive in identifying and apprehending individuals involved in the sale and transportation of illegal narcotics. The Office will continue working diligently to keep the community safe and drug-free.
All charges are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
