Senator Bill Weber Comments On The State Education Commissioner receiving A $155,000 Raise

Published

on

While New York students are struggling with declining math and reading scores, the State Education Commissioner has received a $155,000 pay increase, bringing her salary to $489,000 per year—over 6 times the median household income in New York.

Hardworking New Yorkers deserve better. Taxpayer dollars should go toward improving student achievement, not exorbitant paychecks for bureaucrats. It’s time to prioritize student success over excessive salaries.
