CHESTNUT RIDGE, NY – Southbound BBQ located in Chestnut Ridge has announced on social media they will be closing at the end of the month.

The following statement was posted on the Southbound BBQ Facebook Page:

It is with heavy hearts and infinite sadness that, barring some type of miracle, we will be closing the restaurant by the end of the month. Between the effects of COVID-19, creditors who are unwilling to work with us and a 60% drop in our business, we cannot continue.

Please come down in the next two weeks, have a drink and say goodbye. Hours: Wed – Fri: 4PM – 9PM, Sat & Sun: 1PM – 9PM. Reservations recommended. We are also doing take-out and Curbside Pick-up. We have suspended GrubHub delivery.

George Hoehmann,Town of Clarkstown Supervisor said “one of the questions I am most asked is when will Chick-fil-A come to the Town of Clarkstown? My administration worked to get folks connected and a deal was negotiated and the site was approved some time ago. The demolition of the existing buildings started in Nanuet this week. The anticipated opening is late spring to early summer of 2025. Looking forward to another new business in our town.
