A 46-year-old West Nyack man has been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary at a local restaurant on South Liberty Drive, according to the Stony Point Police Department.

Christopher Pascale was taken into custody on August 25, 2025, at approximately 3:12 PM, following a joint investigation by the Stony Point Police Department, Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, and Clarkstown Police.

At approximately 9:35 AM the same day, Stony Point Police received a report of a past burglary at the restaurant. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the business owner who reported finding the cash register pried open and loose change scattered across the floor upon opening the restaurant.

Detectives from the Stony Point Detective Bureau and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office BCI responded to the scene and reviewed surveillance footage from both the restaurant and surrounding area. The footage reportedly showed a male suspect using a screwdriver to pry open the cash register and remove between $300 and $500 in cash before exiting through a rear door.

Investigators recognized the suspect from a similar recent burglary at a restaurant in Nanuet, NY. Working collaboratively, detectives identified the suspect as Christopher Pascale, who was found staying at the Budget Motor Inn in Stony Point under an alias. Surveillance was set up, and Pascale was taken into custody without incident after exiting his room.

He was interviewed by detectives from both Stony Point and Clarkstown police departments and subsequently charged with the following:

  • Burglary in the 3rd Degree

  • Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree

  • Possession of Burglar Tools

Pascale was processed, arraigned, and remanded to the Rockland County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

Please note: A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. — Detectives with the Orangetown Police Department arrested two men after intercepting a suspected fraud scheme that funneled tens of thousands of dollars in cash to a vacant residence in Tappan, authorities said.

Police said the investigation began on April 28, 2026, when a man from Utah reported that his wife had been scammed out of $6,700 through a bank account scheme. Authorities determined the money had been sent via a package delivery service to an unoccupied home in the Tappan section of Town of Orangetown.

Detectives conducting surveillance observed two individuals retrieve three packages from the residence before attempting to leave the area. Officers stopped the pair and recovered the parcels, which investigators say were tied to three separate fraud cases across the country.

According to police:

  • One package contained $6,700 linked to a bank scam involving a victim in Utah
  • A second package contained $12,500 connected to a computer virus scam targeting a victim in Illinois
  • A third package contained $24,500 associated with an FBI impersonation and identity theft scam involving a victim in Colorado

Authorities identified the suspects as Tian Quan Xie, 20, of Brooklyn, and Wei Ping Sun, 39, of Queens. Both were charged with third-degree grand larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, each classified as felonies under New York law.

The suspects were arraigned in Orangetown Justice Court and released pending a return court date of May 18, 2026.

The Orangetown Police Department’s Detective Bureau credited the Rockland County Intelligence Unit for its assistance in the investigation.
