Piermont Police Department Detective Peter Boutros Rescues Dog Trapped in Car

Tappan, NY – Earlier today, a 1-year-old German Shepherd named Maverick was accidentally locked in the car while preparing for a visit to the vet. After desperately trying to attempt to locate a spare key, they contacted 9-1-1. As they were about to break the window, Det. Boutros arrived on scene and was able to unlock the door and free the trapped dog. The owners thanked Det. Boutros for saving Maverick and asked for a quick photo to remember the stressful and eventful incident.

HPD Kicks Off The 2025 Season Of Cops And Kids Program At Fieldstone Middle School

The initial session of the Cops and Kids program in 2025 kicked off today at Fieldstone Middle School with a friendly game of dodgeball. This program is an opportunity for our department to connect with the youth in the community.
School Resource Officer Joe Bertolino, along with Police Officers Aquino and Fit, joined the students in the game, creating a fun environment that encouraged interaction between the kids and the police officers. We thank the North Rockland School District for their partnership and collaboration.
