Four Family Members Deceased After Murder-Suicide in New City

NEW CITY, NY – On Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 12:20 am, officers from the Clarkstown Police Department responded to 10 Clydesdale Ct. in New City to perform a welfare check.
Upon arrival officers made entry to the residence of the above-referenced location and discovered four deceased persons. The deceased were all identified as members of the Morgan family, Watson Morgan, 49/M, Ornela Morgan 43/F, and their two sons, ages 10 and 12. All four were found to have gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Watson Morgan is employed as a sergeant with the Bronxville (NY) Police Department. At this phase of the investigation it is believed that Watson killed his wife and two children, prior to killing himself with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was recovered at the scene. This investigation is of an isolated incident and the public is not in any danger.

The Town of Ramapo Police Detective Bureau Arrested a 54 Year Old Male From Sloatsburg

On May 13, 2024, The Town of Ramapo Police Detective Bureau arrested a 54-year-old male from Sloatsburg for Burglary in the third degree, Criminal Mischief in the third degree and Grand Larceny in the third degree. The arrest stems from a commercial burglary that occurred at an oil change business in Monsey on May 9, 2024. The defendant was arraigned at Spring Valley court and remanded to Rockland County Jail, due to previous felony convictions. He is due to return to Ramapo court at on a later date.
*It should be noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Inmate At Rockland County Jail Pleads Guilty To Assaulting Corrections Officer

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced today that Shaquille Gage, 21, of Spring Valley, New York has pleaded guilty to one count of Assault in the Second Degree for injuring a Rockland County Corrections Officer while the defendant was confined in the Rockland County Jail before the Honorable Kevin Russo on May 9, 2024.
On April 7, 2024, the defendant refused to comply with multiple verbal instructions given to him by Rockland County Corrections Officers. He became aggressive towards the corrections officers and punched one in the face. There were two separate struggles during which the defendant continued to resist corrections officers. As a result of these struggles, a Rockland County Corrections Officer was injured. The officer was treated for his injuries at a local hospital.
District Attorney Tom Walsh said, “The conduct of the defendant in this case is unacceptable and caused injuries to a corrections officer. Everyday corrections officers across the country play a vital role in our justice system, from helping rehabilitate prisoners to keeping them safe.”
Gage currently remains incarcerated in the Rockland County Jail pending sentencing, which is scheduled for July 10, 2024. The defendant will be sentenced to 3 years in state prison. Senior Assistant District Attorney Emily McNiff prosecuted the case.
