Ramapo PD Welcome Three New Officers

SUFFERN, NY – The Town of Ramapo Police Department welcomed three new officers to their ranks. Joseph Wassner, Jake Tamburro, & Kevin Leonard were sworn in this morning at Ramapo Town Hall.

They joined a dedicated team that serve and protect our community. Following their oath of office, each new officer was provided with the invaluable book, “Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement: A Guide for Officers and Their Families” by Dr. Kevin M. Gilmartin.

Please join us in congratulating our new officers, wishing them success and safety as they uphold our mission to keep our community safe!

An Alligator Was Rescued From The Minisceongo Creek

Today at approximately 11:10am, Haverstraw Police responded to the Minisceongo Creek in the area of Bridge Street in Garnerville for a report of an alligator in the creek.
Haverstraw Police Department personnel assisted in successfully removing the alligator from the water. The Hudson Valley Humane Society of Pomona responded to the scene to take possession and care of the alligator.

UPDATE: Rockland County Firefighters Headed To Orange County To Assist In Greenwood Lake Wildfire

Rockland County fire departments deployed units to Greenwood Lake in Orange County last night to help protect structures threatened by the brush fire. Hillcrest, Blauvelt, Pearl River, New City, West Haverstraw, Central Nyack, Nanuet, Piermont, and Suffern responded.
Please keep all the first responders, home owners and residents in your thoughts and prayers.
