Stony Point Police Department Reports Road Closure Sunday February 9th

Sunday, February 9, 2025 Grassy Point Rd/River Rd will be CLOSED to all traffic for the Annual Stony Point Seals Inc. Polar Plunge into the icy Hudson River for a great cause. The closure will be approximately 10:30am-1:30pm. Use alternate routes. Or, if you are so inclined – sign up & jump into the icy river for charity!

Piermont Fire Department Were Called To Save A Swan Stuck In The Icy Waters

At approximately 10:30 this morning the Piermont Fire Department Marine and Divers were requested by the Piermont Police Department for a Swan stuck in the ice. As Marine 2 approached, it broke up the ice enough to free the Swan. The Swan was healthy enough to fly away without any apparent injuries.

Clarkstown Police Department Sgt. Dan Burke Retires After 28 Years Of Service

The Clarkstown Police Department is proud to announce the retirement of Sergeant Dan Burke, who retires after over 28 years of dedicated service. Sergeant Burke’s career with the Clarkstown Police Department started in July of 1996, and in 2014 he earned a well-deserved promotion to Sergeant. Prior to his service with the Clarkstown Police, Sergeant Burke proudly served in the U.S. Navy.

Throughout his career with the department, Sergeant Burke held several roles, including serving on the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), assigned to the Rockland County Narcotics Task Force, and as a member of the Honor Guard.

Sergeant Burke’s commitment to duty earned him prestigious awards such as the Medal of Valor and the Combat Cross. We are grateful for Sergeant Burke’s years of service and wish him the best as he transitions into a well-deserved retirement.
