Down to Earth Living Brings Holiday Magic to Pomona with Annual Christmas Open House

Pomona, N.Y. — The elves at Down to Earth Living are already hard at work turning their 10,000-square-foot showroom into a winter wonderland. For many, the holiday season is a time to savor simple joys — roasting marshmallows, sipping hot apple cider, and wrapping gifts for loved ones — and Down to Earth Living is ready to rekindle that nostalgia with its annual Holiday Open House.

The festive event will take place on Saturday, November 8, and Sunday, November 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the showroom located at 1040 Route 45 in Pomona.

Guests can expect a cheerful atmosphere complete with wine and cheese for adults, free goody bags for children, and a special visit from Santa Claus from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Santa visits are always free, and he’ll return on November 28–29, December 6–7, December 13–14, and December 20–21 for more photo opportunities and holiday cheer.

Adding to the excitement, Down to Earth Living will hold hourly $50 gift certificate giveaways from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the open house weekend. Attendees can enter for free by signing up at the register.

Each year, the Down to Earth Living showroom is transformed into a breathtaking holiday display featuring life-like Santas, state-of-the-art pre-lit artificial Christmas trees, friendly reindeer, collectible ornaments (including Mark Roberts designs), whimsical gnomes, and an array of furry woodland creatures tucked among the branches.

Visitors are invited to stroll through the displays, find inspiration for their own holiday décor, and experience the sights, scents, and sounds of the season in a space designed to spark joy for all ages.

Patrouille de France “Liberté 250” Flyover Set for West Point June 9 @ 10:40 a.m.

A special aerial tribute is set to take place over West Point as the renowned Patrouille de France performs the “Liberté 250” flyover on Tuesday, June 9, at approximately 10:40 a.m.

The formation will pass over the United States Military Academy, traveling from Williams/Cullum Road toward Trophy Point while leaving a striking trail of red, white, and blue smoke in its wake. The flyover will also feature an A400 aircraft leading the formation.

The event offers a rare opportunity for spectators to witness one of the world’s most celebrated military aerobatic teams as it flies over one of America’s most historic military institutions.

Visitors and residents are encouraged to look to the skies and capture photos of the flyover as the aircraft make their pass over West Point.

Yes, many people in Rockland County may be able to see at least part of the flyover, depending on their location and visibility conditions.

The formation is scheduled to pass over United States Military Academy and then continue south along the Hudson River corridor toward the Statue of Liberty. Reports indicate the aircraft will travel down the Hudson after departing the West Point area. river, the better your chances.
