Orangetown PD destroy over 1,000 lbs. of evidence and surrendered prescription drugs

Orangetown Police Department destroyed over 1,100 pounds of evidence that no longer has evidentiary value due the cases having been adjudicated in the courts. Also destroyed were prescription medicine turned over to the Orangetown Police Department as part of Operation Medicine Cabinet.

The drugs and evidence were destroyed at Wheelabrator Westchester’s waste-to energy facility which turns waste into clean renewable electricity.
