PEARL RIVER, NY – The NY Daily News is reporting that an off-duty NYPD officer was beaten and robbed of his sneakers outside of Mickey’s Tavern in Pearl River.
The incident occurred when the off-duty NYPD officer was leaving Mickey’s Tavern about 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday when three men jumped him. The assailants would beat him up, and take his sneakers and then fled the scene. EMS transported the officer to Nyack Hospital for treatment of a fractured eye socket.
An NYPD spokesman referred all questions to the Orangetown Police Department, which is handling the case. A message to a police spokesman there was not immediately returned Tuesday night.
