Update on Felix Festa Middle School Incident via Clarkstown Police

The Clarkstown Detective Bureau believes that the call last night and today made by an unknown male adult stating that there was a gunman at Felix Festa Middle School was a hoax. They we will continue to investigate these incidents, and are confident that there is no immediate threat to the students or staff.

Tomorrow morning there will be an increased presence of uniformed officers at the school just as a precaution. Clarkstown PD’s priority is the safety and well being of the staff and students and to minimize the impact on the school schedule. They will continue to work with the Clarkstown School District and will provide additional information as it becomes available.

Clarkstown Police Chief Ray McCullagh thanked everyone involved in today’s response and commended the actions of all involved. “The response was a testament to the dedication and training of the school staff and police agencies who responded in a professional and efficient manner to ensure the safety of our children. ” said McCullagh.

Clarkstown Police Department Temporary Road Closure April 22-April 25th Valley Cottage

Gilchrest Rd will be temporarily closed beginning, Monday, April 22 to Thursday, April 25, at the railroad crossing between Stern Place and Sasson Terrace in Valley Cottage. This closure is due to construction upgrades being performed by CSX. Please follow the posted detours provided by CSX.
